Scripture: 1 John 4:9–11

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Devotional:

Jesus didn’t come because we had earned God’s love. He came because God loves us. Advent reminds us that love is not simply a feeling Jesus offered; love is who He is. He came close, entered our world, and gave everything so we could know Him forever.

Because God loves us fully and perfectly, we are free to love others. We don’t have to protect our pride or prove our worth. We can show compassion, forgive quickly, and give generously because God has already given us everything in Jesus.

This season, let’s slow down long enough to notice people who need the love of Christ and let His love overflow from us into their lives.

Who is one person Jesus may be inviting you to love in a tangible way this week?

Family Activity:

Write a simple note of encouragement or gratitude to someone God puts on your heart. You’ll bring so much joy to their day!

Thank Jesus for His love and ask Him to help your family reflect His love to others this Christmas.
