Creating musical, visual, and spiritual environments that invite others to encounter Jesus.
Each member of Gateway's Worship Team - whether they're a vocalist, instrumentalist, AV tech, or host - is called to humbly serve God and our church as a worship leader. We can’t make others respond to God, nor is it our responsibility. But there are two things a worship leader can do.
We respond to God with worship.
God created the human race to worship Him (see Isaiah 43:7), so we should worship! And if we hope to influence others to worship, we must worship! Albert Schweitzer said, “Example is not the main thing in influencing others, it is the only thing.”
We speak, sing, play, create, and use technology so as to invite others to respond to God with worship.
The work of our Worship Team comes together on Sunday to create an environment, and we strive to make it an environment that helps and encourages our people to encounter Jesus and respond to Him in worship.
