Day Twenty | October 13
Power to Transform
“For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the Kingdom of the Son He loves.” —Colossians 1:13
One challenge we face today is how easily we trivialize sin, Satan, salvation, and the Savior. Sin is often reduced to mere personal flaws or mistakes. Satan is dismissed as a myth, a caricature, or even a joke. Salvation is treated like a one-time intellectual choice rather than a radical transformation of life. And Jesus? Sometimes He’s seen merely as a wise teacher or religious figure, rather than the unique Son of God who declared, “I and the Father are one” and the only way to the Father.
Colossians reminds us that salvation is not a casual matter—it’s a supernatural rescue from the kingdom of darkness into God’s own Kingdom. It’s a profound, life-altering deliverance. To trivialize what Jesus accomplished on the cross is to underestimate the magnitude of God’s love and power.
Reflection Question:
In what ways might you be underestimating the power of your salvation? How can you live today more fully aware of what Christ has rescued you from?
Prayer Focus:
Today marks the halfway point of our 40 days of prayer. Pray for renewed strength and encouragement for our church family. Ask God to deepen our daily walk with Him, increase our faith, and inspire generous giving on Commitment Sunday. Pray that none of us will ever take lightly the incredible love that saved us.
