Day Three | September 26
The Birth of A Dream
“Then God remembered Rachel; he listened to her and opened her womb.” Genesis 30:22
Rachel was Jacob’s dream come true. They were deeply in love, and like many couples, they longed to have a child—a living expression of their love walking the earth. After a painful season of waiting, God heard Rachel’s cry and answered her prayer, giving her a son named Joseph. Her dream became reality.
Throughout history, God has worked through dreams—visions, longings, and deep-seated desires placed within people’s hearts. Dreams have inspired life-saving discoveries, nation-shaping speeches, and revival movements that transformed countless souls. From world-changing inventions to deeply personal milestones, a dream can be the spark that lights the flame of transformation.
Think of it this way: your dream may not just be about you. It could be the key to healing, encouraging, or reaching someone else. The world may be waiting for the dream God placed in you to come alive.
Not all dreams are from God—but the ones that are won’t go away. They persist. They press on your heart. They line up with His Word and push you toward something greater than yourself. That kind of dream is sacred.
Our church’s dream—to create space for more people to encounter Jesus—flows directly from the heart of Scripture. “Open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” (John 4:35). That verse is more than a rally cry—it’s a reason to act.
Reflection Question:
What dream or desire has God placed in my heart that I need to start praying over and pursuing?
Prayer Focus:
Pray that God will continue to lead Gateway as we pursue His vision in His timing. Ask Him to bless our efforts to reach friends and family with the hope of Christ. Take time to ask God what dream He’s placed in your heart—what burden, what idea, what mission. Then ask Him for courage and clarity to take the next step in faith.
