Day Eight | October 1
A God You Can Trust
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6
God expects His people to trust Him—because He has proven time and again that He is trustworthy. We were created to live in dependence on Him. Our knowledge is limited, our wisdom is flawed, and our strength is insufficient—so we need our Creator. At its core, sin is a failure to trust God. These verses in Proverbs show us how to trust Him rightly.
1. Trust Him Entirely
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart.”
God wants more than partial trust. He wants us to rely on Him with every part of our lives—our salvation, our health, our relationships, our work, our finances, our strengths, our weaknesses, and even our failures.
2. Trust Him Exclusively
“Lean not on your own understanding.”
Our own understanding is flawed by sin. God, however, is all-knowing. He sees the beginning from the end. He even knows the number of hairs on your head. Trust His wisdom through His Word, through prayer, and through godly counsel. He is for you.
3. Trust Him Uniformly
“In all your ways acknowledge Him.”
Every area of life—big decisions and daily choices—should be guided by His wisdom. There is no part of life too small for God’s involvement, and none too big for His ability.
Reflection Question:
How can I trust God more uniformly—in both the big decisions and the small, everyday moments?
Prayer Focus:
Pray that our church will grow in confident trust in God’s character and promises. Praise Him for His faithfulness, thank Him for guiding our church’s path, and ask Him to lead your own path clearly—both today and in the days ahead.
