Harvest City Initiative

Big Vision. Bold Faith. Greater Harvest.

There's a Story Bigger Than Ours—and You're Invited to Be Part of It

At Gateway Community Church, we’ve always believed that God is writing a powerful story in our community—one of restoration, hope, and new beginnings. But the story isn’t finished.

We believe the next chapter begins with clarity and space—clarity of who we are and space to welcome more families, disciple more kids and students, create new friendships, and impact our city in greater ways.

The Harvest City Initiative is our bold step forward.

Removing Barriers and Creating Space

A New Name, A Bold Future

Gateway Community Church is becoming Harvest City Church in February 2026.

To eliminate ongoing confusion with a similarly named church in our area, we’re changing our name to reflect our unique identity and future vision. This change will help us better connect with our city and those we're called to reach.

Making Our Presence Known

Our current location is often overlooked. Many mistake our building for Smith Elementary right next door. As part of this transition, we’ll be updating our building’s exterior and interior to create a stronger visual presence on Country Club Road, making it clear who we are and that everyone is welcome here.

We’re Out of Space—And That’s a Good Thing

God is growing our church, and we’re running out of room to gather, connect, and grow together.

  • Crowded Lobby: We need more space for community and connection between services.
  • Kids & Youth: Our growing Next Gen ministries need more space.
  • Adult Groups: Demand for groups is up, but existing space is limited.

This campaign helps us create space for everyone to encounter Jesus—now and in the future.

What This Campaign Will Accomplish

BASELINE GOAL – $2M:

  • Expanded and renovated lobby
  • Key interior and exterior upgrades to improve guest experience and to become Harvest City Church

STRETCH GOAL – $4M:

  • All of the above
  • Begin construction of the new Next Gen Building
  • Provides space for kids, students, and adults
  • Second floor unfinished until additional funds are raised

ABUNDANTLY MORE GOAL – $6M:

  • All of the above
  • Fully finished Next Gen Building, including second floor
  • Launch into future growth without delay

10% of all giving goes directly to missions—because the harvest isn’t just local, it’s global.

How You Can Get Involved

How You Can Get Involved

  1. PRAY – Ask God to show you your part in this initiative. 40 Days of Prayer
  2. PLAN – Consider a one-time gift and a three-year commitment.
  3. PARTICIPATE – Join us on Commitment Sunday, Nov 9 and say “yes” to what God is doing.

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…”

Ephesians 3:20

Commitment Sunday: November 9

This is our church’s defining moment. On this day, each family will have the opportunity to:

• Bring a one-time gift

• Make a three-year financial commitment—above and beyond regular giving

This isn’t about equal giving, but equal sacrifice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the money being raised for?

A: To expand our campus with a new large gathering space and a new building for children, youth, and adults—more than doubling our current capacity for connection, discipleship, and growth.

Q: When will the new space be built?

A: We plan to begin construction on our larger gathering space in February. Our architects have designed a beautiful expansion to help us welcome more people and better serve our church family. The new building for children, youth, and adults will follow, with timing dependent on how quickly the needed funds are raised.

Q: How much are we aiming to raise?

  • Baseline Goal: $2 Million
  • Stretch Goal: $4 Million
  • Abundantly More Goal: $6 Million

Every gift matters—and will go directly to make this vision a reality.

Q: Will the church need to borrow money?

A: Possibly - but our prayer is to minimize or eliminate debt through generous commitments. Every gift moves us closer to reducing long-term borrowing and freeing more resources for ministry.

Q: How much should I give?

A: We're not asking for equal giving - but equal sacrifice. We're encouraging everyone to seek the Lord and follow His leading. As 2 Corinthians 9:7 says: "Each one of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
